Meet
Miss Schmidt |

Hello
friends! My name is Cody, and I am so excited that you are in this kindergarten class.
I think that learning is so much fun, and I think that kindergarten kids are
the best because we have so much in common! We both like to dig in the
dirt, play fun games like hide-and-seek and chase, run around, eat snacks,
take naps, and play with toys. I know you are going to have lots of fun
in kindergarten and are going to learn so much!
|

Getting dirty, taking naps, and playing with toys is what I do best! |
|
So,
I hear that my mom is your new kindergarten teacher. Her name is Miss
Schmidt, and she's pretty cool. She thinks that kindergarten kids are
the best, too. She'll teach you to read and write, do math, and hey,
she'll even let you play games, take naps, and play with toys, too. We
live in Fuquay with our two cats, Sammi and Grace (I like to chase them,
too). Miss Schmidt likes to do fun things like teach you guys, play the
guitar, cheer for the Carolina Hurricanes, go whitewater kayaking/rafting in
the mountains, and garden (see, she likes dirt,
too!). She went to Appalachian State University for Elementary Education
and just got her masters from East Carolina University in Instructional
Technology.

My mom and I both like computers. |

This is me rock'n out on the guitar! |
|
You
know, Miss Schmidt went to kindergarten right here in Fuquay just like
you? Yep, she went to Lincoln Heights Elementary, where she loved
reading all kinds of books. Check out that fish she caught when she
was your age!
Well, I
think that you are going to have a lot of fun this year and are going to learn
a ton! Maybe you'll even learn to play the "air" guitar!
I hope that Miss Schmidt brings me in to meet you some time. Until then,
have fun in kindergarten!
Love, Cody

Where should I go?
|

Me with the Stanley Cup... Go Canes!
|
Miss Schmidt loves to go white water kayaking and rafting in the mountains of
North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Sometimes, I get to go along for
the ride. Here she is with her family on the Ocoee River (I actually
stayed home, and my mom put me in the picture later to show how brave I could
be!). |
